Mysuru: Former Corporator Prema Shankaregowda has clarified that there is no genuine opposition from the local residents to the proposed construction of a biogas cremation plant at the Manchegowdanakoppal burial grounds. Instead, she alleged that the resistance is driven purely by political motives.
Responding to a report published in Star of Mysore on Tuesday titled ‘MCC’s eco-friendly biogas cremation plan hits hurdle,’ Prema asserted that the residents have not raised objections to the project. “Some individuals are creating hurdles for political reasons, not out of concern for the local community,” she said.
