Mysore/Mysuru: With incessant rains causing floods and landslides across the State, the Natural Disaster Management Centre in ATI (Administrative Training Institute) here has started online training sessions for Gram Panchayat PDOs and other staff of the State.
During the training, the PDOs were advised to form Committees involving local people's representatives, Policemen, School teachers, Health Officials and Anganawadi workers for better handling of floods and such other natural calamities at the village-level. The PDOs were also trained on preventing the spread of vector-borne diseases and the immediate relief measures to be taken in case of floods, landslides, destruction of houses, crop loss and such other losses.
