A total of 91 water user co-operative societies of KRS, Kabini and Harangi projects coming under Mysuru Sub-Division have ceased to function for the past several years. It has been found that 62 water user co-operative societies of KRS, 22 of Kabini and 7 of Harangi projects have ceased functioning for many years and as such the CADA (Command Area Development Authority) has decided to liquidate these societies as per the provisions under Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act. Accordingly, objections if any, from members of the societies, members of the public or others have been invited in writing within 15 days. If no objections are received within the deadline, then CADA will go ahead with the liquidation process and any objections received thereafter will not be considered, according to a press release.
