Mysuru, June 6 - On his first day as Karnataka Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar (DKS) held a series of meetings with senior Government officials at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on June 4, issuing directions on administrative functioning and reviewing key issues.

Shortly after taking the oath, during a press interaction at Vidhana Soudha, the Chief Minister intervened to change the seating arrangement behind him, saying only designated officials should be present during official briefings.

He asked political leaders and others present behind him to vacate the area, stating that only authorised officers should be positioned in the background during media interactions, so that official briefings are not reduced to photo opportunities.

“Only officers should be behind me,” he said, adding that no political leaders or unauthorised persons should be seated or standing behind him during press conferences.

At one point, he called out to his Media Secretary Thyagaraj and reiterated that only one or two officers were needed in the background, directing that the rest should move away.

Following his instructions, those seated behind him were seen getting up and leaving their positions as arrangements were quickly adjusted for the briefing.
