Bengaluru: Amidst rising concerns about the ‘Nipah virus’ (NiV) following an outbreak in Kerala, the State Health and Family Welfare Department has issued a list of precautionary measures for the public, which includes avoiding cut fruits sold on the roadside, unprocessed dry fruits or unprocessed date palm juice.
Also, the Tourism Department is advising people to avoid visiting God’s Own Country — Kerala. The Department has advised people to avoid visiting Kerala, especially four districts — Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kannur — where cases of Nipah infection have been reported.
