Mysuru: Parents, accusing the doctor of medical negligence which reportedly led to the death of a newborn during delivery, staged a protest along with their family members in front of KVC Hospital on Krishna Vilas Road in city yesterday.

The protesters said that Kavya, a resident of Rayanahalli village in Hunsur taluk, was admitted to the hospital for delivery. But even after four days of Kavya being admitted to the hospital, the doctors had not performed the surgical procedure thus displaying negligence, they alleged.

Clarifying on the issue, a doctor told media persons that Kavya, who was married six years ago, was being treated by her since past three years.

“About a year ago, Kavya had delivered twins which later died and she was suggested not to conceive for one to two years. But Kavya became pregnant again in 4-5 months and her health was being monitored for BP. This may have led to death of the baby,” doctor said.

No Police complaint has been lodged in this regard.
