Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Nartana Namana, Ganabharathi in association with Vidu. Nandini Eswer’s Raasavrunda and in memory of Smt. Saraswathamma Ramashastry, will present a unique lyrical poetry of Kalidasa’s Meghadootam on Feb.26 at 6.30 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar.
Meghadootam is a lyrical poem of 120 stanzas written by Kalidasa. It recounts how a Yaksha, a subject of King Kubera (the God of Wealth), after being exiled for a year for neglecting his duties, convinces a passing cloud to take a message to his wife Alaka on Mount Kailash in the Himalayan Mountains.
