Mysuru: Former Mayor Sandesh Swamy has expressed his disappointment over officers for being featured in reels as a publicity activity for this year’s Dasara.
In a press release, Sandesh Swamy said, the officials had not involved the elected representatives, political leaders, associations and the public in organising Dasara events.
“The officials have only been creating reels in the name of publicity which has not gone well with the public. Dasara is more about people participation and not content for the reels featuring the officials. More than providing information about the events, the social media only features reels featuring the officials,” he said and questioned if the elected representatives were not able to control the situation.
The State Government and Dasara Committee must initiate measures to organise people’s Dasara. Committees must have been formed with representatives from political parties, elected representatives, association, artistes, littérateurs, spiritual leaders and general public being part of it. Unfortunately, now Dasara has turned into Officials’ ‘Reels Dasara,’ said Sandesh Swamy.
