Purandaradasa is known as the Father of Karnatak Classical Music. Just like other Dasas, Purandaradasa also travelled far and wide in the country (by walk) and visited a number of pilgrim places. While doing so, he composed quite a few Devaranamas to bring out the salient features of those places.
Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira is presenting a Musical Feature, Naada Rasa Teertha Yaatre, which gives a glimpse of some of the holy places of South India that were visited by Purndaradasa. Even though it is a Karnatak Classical Music based programme, visual medium and drama are also included to make it more attractive.
