Mysuru: What if the song is old, it still rings in one’s ears and this feeling was uppermost yesterday at the Mysore Palace where the young rising singers of Mysuru, through their melodious voices, rendered beautiful Kannada movie songs, filling the hearts of the large audience gathered. It was the fourth day of the Mysuru Winter Festival organised jointly by Information and Publicity Department, District Administration and Palace Board as part of the cultural festival. The programme ‘Ganayaana’ conducted by Mysuru’s Sunitha Chandrakumar and Raghuleela musical troupe featured young male and female singers that included the likes of Shreya K. Bhat, Vasudha Shastry, C. Sinchana, Akshara Parashar, Navneeth Krishna, Karthik, Poorvaj Vishwanath and Rakshitha Suresh who sang some old Kannada movie songs drawing everyone’s attention. Navneeth began the first song from the movie Jeevana Chaitra’s popular number ‘Naadamaya ee lokavella Naadamaya,’ followed by Sinchana singing from the movie Ranga SSLC ‘Oorakannu, yaarakannu, marikannu, horikannu.’
