Mysore/Mysuru: The Union Government has appointed Prof. P. Hariprasad of Mysuru to a high-level committee under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Rapid Analytical Food Testing. He is among nine experts selected from across the country.
Currently, a Professor at the Centre for Rural Development and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Prof.Hariprasad brings decades of expertise in Agricultural Microbial Bio-technology, Applied Secondary Metabolomics and Rapid Detection Kit development.
Beginning his career as a DBT Research Associate at Mysuru’s CSIR-CFTRI, Prof. Hariprasad later joined IIT, Delhi as an Assistant Professor in 2013. He was promoted as Associate Professor in 2020 and as Professor in 2025.
A prolific researcher, he has published many research articles and received several honours.
The Centre has now appointed him to this National Committee to strengthen food safety and quality standards.
