Poornima Jayakrishna of Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII), a Mysuru-based NGO working for improving the health of women and children through evidence-based research and care, has been selected to present her abstract at the 10th Annual Consortium of Universities for Global Health’s conference to be held at Chicago, USA, between Mar. 8 and 10. Poornima will be presenting her abstract titled ‘Identifying Knowledge and Beliefs about Cervical Cancer among Rural Women in Mysuru District’. This apart, a video titled ‘Stop Cervical Cancer Before it Starts’ has also been selected for the Global Health video competition run by the Pulitzer Centre for Crisis Reporting. The short video showcases the mobile camps conducted by PHRII to screen women for cervical cancer in Mysuru.
