Mysuru: The Kannada Kriya Samithi has welcomed the Centre’s decision to grant autonomy to the Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada (CESCK) but has urged the Government to drop plans to relocate it from Mysuru to Bengaluru.
Samithi General Secretary S.R. Sudarshan stressed that Mysuru, a city of global repute, is the ideal location for CESCK, where modern technology can drive research and development. He cited a phone conversation with Kannada Development Authority Chairman Purushotham Bilimale, who confirmed recommending to the Union Minister that CESCK remain in Mysuru and assured him of reiterating the request in writing.
