Villainy act of 10-member gang at Dinka village in Pandavapura taluk; Issue over missing girl turns ugly
Pandavapura: In a gruesome incident, a gang of 10 allegedly carried out a murderous attack on two persons over a trivial issue, leaving one of them severely injured, at Dinka village in Pandavapura taluk, Mandya district recently.
The injured person has been identified as Prakash, who has sustained fracture in his legs and is admitted for treatment at a private hospital in Mysuru.
Pandavapura Police have booked a case against 14 persons and have taken one Girish into their custody and interrogating him.
The handiwork of Prakash and his brother-in-law was suspected behind the incident of a girl from a village in K.R. Pet taluk, going missing. When the girl’s brother questioned Prakash about the same, the latter along with his relative, had allegedly assaulted the former.
On Feb. 22 afternoon, Prakash was riding his two-wheeler towards Chinakurali, along with one Naveen, when the accused, who came in cars and motorbikes, waylaid them.
The accused, identified as Girish, Manju, Jeevan, Shashikumar, Ayyappa, Madan, Madappa, Ravi, Ninganna and Ganesh, had clubs and fencing stones with them.
Fearing attack, Prakash and Naveen, made a bid to run helter-skelter towards Marasanahalli through the fields at Kanaganahalli, but the accused chased and caught hold of them, before beating them black and blue.
However, Prakash had to face the fury of assailants, who unleashed their villainy act, by throwing fencing stone on his legs and knees, even as he was pleading mercy.
Strangely, the whole incident was caught on camera of the accused, which later went viral. Such acts of video recording the crime incidents, have become a new normal nowadays, which is encouraging others to follow suit.
