Mother seeks job for disabled swimmer

An incident of a mother pleading Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep to help her disabled son get a government job was witnessed during a meeting held to discuss the problems faced by disabled persons at c here yesterday. Naveena Kumaraswamy, mother of a disabled swimmer, informed Randeep that her son, who had 75 percent disability, had won silver medals in national, State and district level swimming championships. She also said that her son was studying in II PUC and a government job would help them to lead a secure life. In his reply, DC Randeep said that the direct recruitment process had been abolished and asked the mother to apply for government job after her son completes his education. He added that her son would definitely get a job since 3 percent job reservation was provided for disabled persons.
