Mysuru: Yakshagana, a popular art in the coastal districts of Karnataka, competes with the reverberating musical beats of the waves of Indian ocean through its instruments chende-maddale.
The coastal south style of this art is called thenku-thittu, north as badagu and north-top as bada-badagu. The same Yakshagana in the interior parts of Karnataka to the south is called moodalapaya and to the north bayalata.
