Bengaluru: All the eleven candidates from the Congress, the BJP and the JD(S), who filed their nomination papers for the biennial election to the Legislative Council from the Legislative Assembly on Thursday are likely to be elected unopposed, with only those candidates who were officially announced by the parties, filing nominations. As Thursday was the last day for filing nomination, all of them are set to be elected unopposed.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place today, following which an official announcement is likely to be made. The BJP renominated Raghunath Rao Malikpure and fielded former MP and party spokesperson Tejaswini Gowda, Rudre Gowda from Shivamogga, who made way for senior BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa in the Assembly polls, K.P. Nanjundi, a prominent leader of Vishwakarma community and N. Ravi Kumar, party General Secretary.
