Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging that Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres have run out of medicine stocks, Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait has opposed global tenders floated by the Government for supply of COVID vaccines.
Speaking to presspersons after taking part in the District-level COVID Management Meeting of Congress party at Jaladarshini Guest House here yesterday, Sait reiterated that there is acute shortage of medicines and vaccines at Government Hospitals and PHCs in the district. Asserting that inviting global tenders would mean a delay in vaccine supplies, he urged the Government to allow localised procurement of vaccines under discretionary quota. Highlighting the disadvantages of floating global tenders, he urged the Government to come up with a clear cut policy on medicine procurement and supply logistics.
