Srirangapatna: With complaints galore regarding illegal stone mining and operation of quarry units in Srirangapatna and Pandavapura taluks that pose a threat to the safety and stability of KRS dam located in the taluk, Minister for Mines and Geology Murugesh Nirani visited several mining areas in Srirangapatna on Monday.
Speaking to presspersons after visiting mining areas around T.M.Hosur and Kalenahalli villages, Nirani said that he has directed the officials to penalise illegal quarry owners and also to collect Royalty from them.
