Mysuru: The theme of World Consumer Rights Day-2025 is “A just transition to sustainable lifestyles” along with “Greater protection and empowerment for consumers.” For Mysureans, the latter theme is urgent considering the near absence of Consumer Movement.
One telling example is the complete absence of any celebration of National Consumer Day last year on Dec. 24. To avoid such a sorry state of affairs, Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has organised January monthly meeting to discuss how every educational institution can be involved to celebrate World Consumers Rights Day on Mar.15, 2025 and National Consumer Day in December.
