Mysore/Mysuru: With the COVID-19 second wave creating havoc in city, many individuals and organisations have volunteered to serve the needy in their own way. While a few have contributed in the form of food and medicines, some others organisations have been distributing groceries, medicines etc. to the needy. Volunteers of a few organisations have been running around the city distributing food and delivering medicines to senior citizens and to those in home isolation.
Rotary Heritage Mysuru, under President Rtn. P. Surendra and with the able support of Charter President Rtn. K. Manjunath and Club members, are preparing and distributing around 1,200 food packets every day. The food is prepared under hygienic conditions with lots of vegetables and cereals with all the nutrition and boosts immunity to fight Corona. The food is packed in aluminium foil covers and is being distributed at various localities in and around the city. Rajanna, proprietor of Amma Choultry has provided the kitchen, utensils and premises to be used free of cost, thereby contributing to the cause in a huge way.
