Mysuru: As part of Bharat Vikas Diwas to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mysuru City Corporation, Mysuru Urban Development Authority, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Department of Education, Let’s Do It! Mysore, GSS Foundation, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Police Department have jointly organised a pilot project to tackle the e-waste generated in city.
As part of the programme, a one-day e-waste collection drive will be launched on Sept. 17. Residents can handover e-waste to civic workers at their doorsteps. Disposal of e-waste which contains toxic material could pollute groundwater if left untreated.
