According to the announcement, the Mayor post has been reserved for Scheduled Caste (woman) category and the Deputy Mayor post for Scheduled Tribe (woman) category. Playing the reservation card, the Congress is trying to wrest the last term of Mayor in the MCC Council, which ends in September.
