Mysore/Mysuru: Resuming the drive against use of banned plastics in the new year, the MCC authorities led by Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rahman Shariff, raided two shops located on Bidaram Krishnappa street in Santhepet this morning and seized banned plastic sheets (single use plastic of thickness less than 120 microns) weighing over one-and-half-tonne.
The owners of the two shops were issued notices and a case has been registered against them for violation of Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules, 2021, it is learnt.
