Mysuru: MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadeesha has said that the MCC cannot grant funds for construction of houses in Revenue sites.
Replying to a demand by former Mayor Ayub Khan and other Corporators who sought extension of financial assistance to SC/ST, backward classes and the specially-abled for construction of homes, at the Council meeting yesterday, the MCC Commissioner said that basic amenities such as water and power can be provided for homes in revenue sites. But as the land is a Revenue issue, the MCC has no powers to extend financial assistance for construction of homes. However, the proposal can be discussed at the next Council meeting and a final decision taken in this regard, Jagadeesha said.
