Mysore/Mysuru: A man was found bludgeoned to death with a large stone slab just about 500 metres from Udayagiri Police Station in the early hours of today.
The deceased has been identified as Umer (35), a resident of Shanthinagar in city and the murder is said to have taken place at about 5.30 am today.
It is learnt that Umer, along with a few others, were sniffing solution to get intoxicated during which a fight may have taken place leading to his murder.
Udayagiri Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to the MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.
Dog squad and Fingerprint unit team were also pressed into service. More details awaited.
