Nanjangud: In a tragic incident, a bike rider was killed on the spot and the pillion rider suffered serious injuries when a speeding lorry hit the bike near Palya Gate on Nanjangud-Gundlupet Highway yesterday midnight. While the deceased has been identified as Sathyaprasad of Doddahundi in Begur hobli of Gundlupet, the seriously injured pillion rider has been identified as Nanjundaswamy, also of the same village and employees of TVS factory.
Sathyaprasad and Nanjundaswamy, after completing their shift at the factory, were returning home on a Hero Honda Splendor bike (KA-10 X-1460) when a speeding lorry (KL-47 4271) rammed into the bike from behind killing Sathyaprasad on the spot and seriously injuring Nanjundaswamy. Nanjundaswamy has been admitted to a hospital in Mysuru.
