Mysuru: The driver of a lorry which hit a scooter causing injuries to its rider near Kadakola on Mysuru-Nanjangud road on Thursday evening was caught hold by the public and severely thrashed. The lorry driver, identified as Balbir Singh, was on way to TVS factory near Kadakola, when he hit the scooter. The public who noticed that the mishap was due to rash and negligent driving by the lorry driver, stopped the lorry which was speeding without stopping and thrashed the driver. Driver Balbir Singh was said to be drunk and his rash driving led to the lorry hitting the scooter, it is learnt. Kadakola Police have booked the lorry driver for drunken-driving and also for rash and negligent driving.
