Mysuru: As part of its monthly moonlight music programme, the Suttur Mutt will be hosting ‘Layavadya Goshti’ instrumental music programme, led by Vidushi Sukanya Ramagopal, at its premises at the foot of Chamundi Hill at 6 pm tomorrow.
Vidu. Sukanya Ramagopal is the only female ghata artiste in the country. After having learnt her first music lessons in mridanga from Chennai-based Vidwan T.R. Harihara Sharma at the age of 12, she was taught violin by Vid. Gurumurthy and ghata by Vid. Vikku Vinayakram. She has performed in Dubai, Singapore, Switzerland, Korea and many other countries. An ‘A’ Grade artiste of Akashavani, she has won many awards and prizes, including the prestigious TTK award given by Chennai Music Academy.
