The Department of Social Welfare has extended the last date for the pre-metric students belonging to ST communities and those engaged in ‘unclean occupation’ to submit applications for student scholarship. Interested students can register their names by logging on to www.sw.kar.nic.in by Dec. 30. Students availing the facility must have linked their Aadhar number to their respective bank accounts. The income limit of parents of such students has been increased from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh. For details, contact the Social Welfare Department Office, Opp. Sri Murugadevi Temple, Govt.
