Kurubarahalli Sy. No. 4 and Alanahalli Sy. No. 41 ‘B’ Kharab Land: CM directs officers to clear legal hurdles first

Bengaluru: After an inordinate delay, the State Government has finally decided to remove the legal hurdles as a first step to solve the long-standing issue of Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 that has been erroneously classified under “B Kharab” (government land). At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah at his Home Office ‘Krishna’ yesterday, it was decided to vacate the stay brought by the residents of the said survey numbers against the Government Order classifying the land as “B Kharab”. Officers will hold a meeting with the State Advocate General to take steps to vacate the stay. Once the stay is vacated, the Government will decide on dropping “B Kharab” classification of areas including Siddarthanagar, Vidyanagar, Alanahalli, K.C. Layout and Income Tax Layout that have been built on the land allotted by the MUDA, the CM said. Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa, Mysuru District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, KR MLA M.K. Somashekar, Regional Commissioner M.V. Jayanti (in-charge), Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, District in-charge Secretary, Revenue and Urban Development Secretary and other officers were present at the meeting. These layouts have been formed decades ago from the land that has been sanctioned by the then City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) now Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). On May 26, 2015, the then Mysuru Deputy Commissioner had declared Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 as “B Kharab”. Over 710.17 acres out of the 1,543 acres that has been declared as “B Kharab” in Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4, and 74 acres out of 175 acres of Alanahalli Survey No. 41 had been taken over by CITB 70 years back to form layouts and to distribute sites. The sites had been purchased by over 25,000 people in 1970s. However, they are yet to get land records, in spite of them being legal owners. Hence, everything has come to a standstill as they are neither able to sell their houses nor build extra floors for the past three years.
