An excellent fight-back by the Mysuru Zone batsmen went in vain as they fell short of the Bengaluru Zone's first innings total of 345 in 98.5 overs, by 18-runs and were bowled out for 327 in 98.2 overs, in the two-day KSCA Inter-Zonal U-14 match played at JSS Grounds in Bengaluru on Thursday and Friday respectively. Bengaluru gained vital first innings lead and the three points in the two-day drawn encounter, while Mysuru secured one point. Choosing to bat after winning toss, Bengaluru scored a good first innings total of 345 in 98.5 overs. Openers S.U. Karthik (82, 10x4, 2x6) and K.S. Aditya (95,10x4) batted well and added 128-runs for the opening wicket. Daniel Christopher (60 n.o., 8x4), C. Prateek (31) and Krishiv Bajaj (22) were the other scorers. Skipper Rohith Goutham took 4 for 67, while he was well-supported by M.S. Yashwanth (2 for 48). S. Ishaan, Dhanush Gowda, R. Raaj and K. Kethan took a wicket each. In reply, Mysuru rallied well to score 327 in 98.2 overs, and fell short of the target by 18-runs. Opener K. Prajwal (71, 6x4s) and Akhil Kashyap (22) added 50-runs for the third wicket. Later, K. Kethan (69, 11x4) and Prajwal added 91-runs for the fourth wicket. Kethan and M.S. Yashwanth (45, 5x4) consolidated the innings further by adding 51-runs. S. Ishaan (55, 53b, 6x4, 1x6) and Yashwanth brought the target closer by adding 62-runs for the seventh wicket. Y.S. Bhuvan (25) was the other contributor. Arnav Sajan and Daniel Christopher took three wickets each for Bengaluru Zone.
