Periyapatna: Hundreds of farmers laid siege to Periyapatna Police Station yesterday after Police arrested Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) Vice-President Lokesh Raje Urs over a trivial issue.
Urs had gone to Periyapatna Police Station yesterday in connection with a complaint lodged by a woman of Hirimalali village in the taluk, when he enquired a Woman Police Constable (WPC) about the absence of PSI Balu. After the WPC told Urs that the PSI had gone out, Urs opened the closed door of the PSI’s chamber, which irked the WPC, following which a verbal duel ensued between the WPC and Urs.
