Mysuru, Oct. 20 (TRR)- Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. P. Shivaraju has said that the District Administration will meaningfully celebrate Kittur Rani Chennamma Jayanti on Oct.23 and Onake Obavva Jayanti on Nov.11.
“The birthday of various great men and women are celebrated to create awareness about their achievements and messages among people,” he said chairing a preliminary meeting of officials held in connection with the preparations that needs to be done.
“The stage programme of Kittur Rani Chennamma Jayanti will be inaugurated at 11.30 am on Oct.23 at Kiru Rangamandira in Kalamandira premises while Onake Obavva Jayanti will be held at the same time and venue on Nov.11,” said the ADC and added that prior to the stage programme, Geeta Gayana will be presented by singers in the presence of distinguished guests and lectures will be delivered by eminent persons.
The ADC directed City Corporation officials to make necessary arrangements to provide drinking water, pandal, decoration, seating arrangements among others.
Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, Assistant Director, Department of Kannanda and Culture, also spoke. Community leaders who were present at the meeting said that they will select the Swamijis to be invited for the two functions.
Officials of various Departments and concerned community leaders associated with the two Jayanti functions were present.
