Mysuru: Communication is the most common challenge faced by children with hearing impairment in their attempt to get education or employment. At the same time, the fact remains that sign language serves as a bridge between students with hearing impairment and professionals working in the field of hearing impairment.

On 19th December 2017, the UN General Assembly declared 23rd September as International Day of Sign Languages (IDSL). Worldwide and especially in India special interest was initiated to propagate Indian Sign Language (ISL) since Sept. 23, 2018 onwards. The Department of Clinical Services and Special Education, AIISH, Mysuru will be celebrating ‘International Day of Sign Languages’ on Sept. 23 at 10 am, with the theme “Sign Language Rights For All.”
