New Delhi: The President of Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Akila Urankar has condemned the murder of journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik of Syandan Patrika on Nov. 21 near Agartala, while he was discharging his duties. In a press release, Akila Urankar has stated that the killing of a defenceless journalist, allegedly by a member of the Police is a very serious matter and added that this was the second murder of a journalist in Tripura within two months which has given rise to great insecurity within the journalist fraternity and demanded the Tripura Government to ensure exemplary punishment to the guilty and also ensure that journalists be able to discharge their duties without fear of violence.
