Mysuru: Infosys Mysore Development Centre (DC) recently concluded MakersSpace, a hackathon for engineering students from Colleges in and around Mysuru. The hackathon received good response from 150 students, who were accompanied by 30 mentors from 14 Colleges.
MakersSpace, a 24-hour-long hackathon, was organised with the objective of engaging with engineering students from local Colleges and to inculcate a culture of innovation among students. Aligning to the theme ‘Sustainability’, the problem statements focused on social good, education, agriculture, economics, energy and environment. The students were allowed to select a problem statement from the above mentioned topics. The event was inaugurated by Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director and Senior Professor at SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysuru and Shaji Mathew, Head of Mysore DC and EVP, Global Head of Delivery, for the Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance & Life Sciences at Infosys. Addressing the students, the chief guests elaborated on the importance of sustainability and how young minds can act as catalysts to bring a positive change.
