Mysuru: The members of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Health Standing Committee conducted a surprise raid yesterday on a parota-making unit operating in a choultry without trade license. The Committee served a notice and asked them to stop the production of parotas. Surprisingly, none of the people working there are aware as to who is the owner of the unit.
The public had been complaining since long that Star Function Hall in Aziz Sait Nagar had been converted into a parota manufacturing unit and were functioning in unhygienic conditions. In the light of the complaints, the Health Standing Committee conducted a surprise raid. During the raid, many facts came to light like converting the choultry into a parota manufacturing unit and the absence of the facilities required for a food production unit.
