Mysuru: Even as the Police claim to have strengthened the beat system for prevention of crimes such as thefts and burglaries, miscreants who broke into a house in Vijayanagar, have decamped with 25 grams gold jewellery worth about Rs. 70,000. Shamanth Kumar, who was residing at a rented house left along with his family members to his native village in Gubbi Taluk on Feb.11. But on Wednesday, the house owner on noticing the front door of the house open, informed Shamanth, following which he rushed backonly to find the house burgled, with 25 grams gold jewellery missing from an almirah, it is learnt. Vijayanagar Police who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
