The Karnataka Pradesha Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association has appealed Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to give importance for Tourism Development in the State Budget to be presented next month. A delegation of the Association, led by its President M. Rajendra, which met Chief Minister at his Bengaluru residence recently, submitted a memorandum seeking reduction in Hotel tax from 4 percent to 2 percent, renewal of bar licenses of Restaurants located along Highways, establishment of 4 Regional Tourism Offices in the State to be headed by an IAS Officer, renovation of KRS, Sanction of land for building Hotels and Restaurants and reduction in fee or inter-State permit of tourist vehicles, among others. The Mysore Industries Association (MIA) too, led by its Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister seeking to include appropriate measures in the State Budget for promotion of Industries.
