Mysuru: Swarasankula Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a grand Hindustani vocal concert by Pandit Shashank Maktedar from Panaji, Goa, on Sunday (Nov.25) at Nadabrahma Sabha auditorium on JLB Road. The present concert is in the form of a tribute to late Pandit Ramarao Nayak, a stalwart in his time. The programme is split into two parts as follows:
- ‘Tala Gana Yana,’ a percussion voyage by seven stalwarts. All Pandits, Sharan Kumar, Aranya Kumar, Prabhurao, Ramesh Dhannur, Gundia and Ganesh Gorata. A rare musical extravaganza. This will be between 5 pm to 6.15 pm.
- From 6.15 pm onwards, Pandit Shashank Maktedar from Panaji, Goa, will render his vocal concert. He will be accompanied on harmonium by Pandit Veerabhadrayya Hiremutt and Pandit Udayaraj Karpur on tabla, all stalwarts in their own field.
