Bengaluru: In a setback to Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), a Division Bench of the Karnataka High Court on Saturday prohibited BTC from conducting any on-course and off-course racing and betting activities at its premises.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice N.V. Anjaria and Justice K.V. Aravind passed the order after hearing the writ appeal filed by the State Government challenging the interim order passed by the Single Judge Bench. The Division Bench also directed that the interim order passed by the Single Judge Bench be kept under suspension and stayed. The Bench further said the prohibition will be in force till all the petitions before the Single Bench, regarding the matter, are decided
