Mysuru: The Karnataka High Court has stayed the construction of Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji statue in front of JSS Mahavidyapeetha near Gun House, the foundation of which was laid by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Aug.29. The statue is being constructed by Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji Centenary Celebrations Committee.
Karnataka Ursu Sangha and Akhila Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court against the construction of the statue. Hearing the PIL, the Divisional Bench of Acting Chief Justice, Justice H.G. Ramesh and Justice P.S. Dinesh Kumar stayed the construction.
