Mysuru: A city-based Army Havildar ended his life by hanging self at a city lodge yesterday. The deceased has been identified as T.V. Kumar (37) a resident of Gandhinagar in the city. Kumar, who was serving the Army at Sikkim, had come to city on leave. Kumar who had repeatedly abstained from duty for the past one year, reportedly left his house yesterday morning by informing his family members that he will be leaving for Sikkim. But Kumar who checked into a lodge in Mandi Mohalla and committed suicide by hanging. The incident came to light last evening. Mandi Police who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary. Kumar’s suicide was all the more tragic for the havaldar’s family, as his wife and child are being treated in a city hospital for suspected dengue.
