Mysuru:It was literally a Grandparents Day Out at Kalamandira here recently where more than ten pairs of grandparents walked on the ramp dressed specially for the occasion in royal attire, as farmers and in North Karnataka style swaying to the exclusive songs played in the background. The occasion was Grandparents Day coined aptly as ‘Ajjanondige Hejje-Ajjiyaondige Gejje’ organised by Kautilya Vidyalaya as a prelude to the Annual Day celebration ‘Kautilya Sadagara.’ The programme was inaugurated by former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University Dr. K. Chidananda Gowda and his wife Tarini Chidananda Gowda, daughter of Kuvempu. The couple also walked a few steps on the ramp with Kuvempu’s popular song ‘Dhoni Sagali Mundhe Hogali’ played in the background. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chidananda Gowda said that he had visited many schools but opined that Kautilya Vidyalaya was very unique coming out with innovative concepts.
