Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri has written to the State Government seeking permission to add 300 beds at Trauma Care Centre to take the tally to 700 beds and another 300 beds at Super Specialty Hospital with 20,000 litres capacity oxygen unit to deal with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter to T.K. Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary, Medical Education Department, she has said that the number of COVID positive cases is increasing and causing additional burden on the existing treatment centres. In view of this, there is a dire need to start Covid treatment at the Super Speciality Hospital and PKTB Hospital. This required the Government's permission.
