Mysuru: The viral fever scare is there in the air all the time in city. Added to this, is the way the cleanliness is maintained. All one has to do is look at the open drain in Gokulam and one understands why the residents of the area are living in fear about the spread of viral diseases.

Once there is thick growth of vegetation, then it becomes the breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies. This is the scene near the Gokulam crematorium close to Gokulam Contour Road. The wild growth of grass and shrubs has hindered the flow of sewage water and as a result, the whole place stinks.
