Mysuru: Continuing their drive against indiscreet dumping of garbage and wastes in city, the officials of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) seized a garbage-loaded Kerala registration lorry in city yesterday.
Acting on a tip off that a Kerala registered lorry was dumping garbage at a shed behind the cement godown near Srinivasa Theatre on Jodi Thenginamara Road, MCC officials led by Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, rushed to the spot and seized the lorry (KL-57-G-4883). Dr. Nagaraj speaking to SOM, said that the MCC has been keeping a vigil on lorries transporting garbage and wastes to the city from Kerala. Following a tip off that a Kerala registered lorry was dumping garbage, they rushed to the spot and came to know that the lorry had brought garbage and wastes from Thrissur, Kerala. The lorry was found to be carrying bedding wastes and other hazardous materials, following which the lorry was seized.
