Prof. G.S. Jayadev, Founding Secretary of Deenabandhu Trust, Chamarajanagar, was awarded with Gandhi Seva Award-2019 in recognition of his service to children and their education at the function held recently. The award was presented by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. Jayadev was selected for the award by a committee led by former High Court Justice B.S. Patil. Starting with a home for few boys, Jayadev built homes for hundreds of children for 20 years with the help of donors and well wishers. Through Deenabandhu School, he shaped the lives of many children belonging to socially backward classes and economically weaker sections.
