Mysuru, Oct. 21 (RK&BCT)- In the wake of festive celebrations, four individuals — including two children — were treated for firecracker-related ocular injuries at the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department (OPD) of K.R. Hospital on Oct. 19 and 20. Fortunately, none of them sustained serious damage to their eyes.

Two adults, aged 35 and 24, suffered injuries to their face and hands, while two children aged 7 and 9 were brought in by family members for treatment. According to hospital sources, doctors are conducting further tests before deciding whether admission is necessary.

There are indications that several others may have sustained minor injuries while bursting firecrackers on Monday night and might have sought treatment at private hospitals.

With festive activities continuing, medical professionals have urged the public to exercise caution while handling firecrackers. They have advised the use of protective eyewear and strict adult supervision, especially when children are involved.
